Huh, who knew?

Who knew that you could take little pieces of clay (these are only about 2-1/2 inches high and overlap them and create a shortened version of a Skinner Blend?  Just overlap each piece with it’s neighbors and I added a thin sheet of Premo Gold underneath to add shimmer and help hold it all together.  Run it through the pasta machine with the strips running vertically.  Fold and roll like a regular Skinner Blend – I fold the bottom to the top and put the fold into the machine.  Once the clay is blended to your satisfaction, just run it through vertically on #5.  Then lay a piece over a premade (not baked) cabachon and put it back into the mold.  Fold the edges back and trim.
